HOMESTAYS

Homestays

While learning English on our individual and tandem courses can speed up the learning process here in Italy reaching results that group courses cannot, studying abroad in the UK on courses following the same approach can certainly enhance your English skills, especially your Speaking and Listening skills.
In fact for us at Atlas having a homestay study-break abroad is one of the fastest and most satisfying ways of learning. We have been working extensively and happily for the last ten years with Living Learning English, a school based in Bristol, which holds courses all around the UK where you will be learning English successfully, intensively and rapidly by living and studying at home with your teacher.
You will be welcomed into your teacher's home where you will experience life in the UK as part of a warm, friendly family. You will speak only English every day and your teacher will help you find the right words in daily conversation.
All teacher's homes are of a good standard and you will have a comfortable private study bedroom. You will share bathroom facilities with your teacher and family or you can request a private bathroom.
Let's take as an example “The Living Learning English General English course”. It is extremely flexible and is tailored to meet your individual needs. You decide when you want to come, how long you would like to stay, and the number of hours of tuition per week - 15, 20, 25 or 30.
Usually, the formal tuition takes place in the mornings, leaving the afternoons and evenings free for activities, visits and excursions with the teacher or private study.
You will develop a wide range of language skills including reading, writing, listening, speaking. You will work on grammar and vocabulary in the way that you learn best and your teacher will help you find the best method of learning vocabulary for you. At the beginning of the course, the teacher will assess your level of English and requirements, and plan a programme of study. You will be assessed again at the end of the course to record progress. A full report of lesson content, achievement, and recommendations for future study will be sent to you after the end of the course, as well as your certificate.
